The Role

At CoStar Group, Photography plays a critical role in bringing our products to life on behalf of our customers. Whether visually capturing a new state of the art office building or the essence of a neighborhood, photography and video allow users to imagine what is possible. Reporting to the SVP, Photography, we are looking for a VP, Photography for the US, who will lead and inspire a large, growing team of world class photographers. This individuals mandate will be to continue to create compelling and impactful photo and video content across our products (CoStar, Apartments.com, LoopNet, Ten-X, Homes.com, etc.) while simultaneously leveraging operational best practices to ensure on time execution and delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team of Directors and Managers with a strong operational mindset to ensure individual metrics and quality standards are being met.

  • Develop and recruit strong operational leadership to support the organization.

  • Lead and organize a team of 600+ photographers to support the expansion of business and customer activity.

  • Innovate on deliverables to ensure the team is producing visually appealing and impactful photography for all products.

  • Be curious about improving deliverables and act with an owner-operator mindset.

  • Ensure operational metrics are in place that are aligned to, and support, business objectives as well as developing delivery standards that can be scaled across a large organization.

  • Inspect what you expect. Ensure that the team is not just reporting on activity but inspecting the teams work and activity on a regular basis and taking action when necessary to improve outcomes.

  • Ensure we continue to evolve capabilities and stay on top of the latest trends by testing and adopting new hardware and software technologies impacting drone capabilities, photography, and videography.

  • Collaborate with Sales leaders, Product, Research, and IT to deliver impactful media on behalf of our customers.

  • Evolve on-boarding and training programs that focus on driving integration of new team members and the on-going development of photographers and managers.

  • Focus on continuous improvement of workflows and processes to drive optimization and innovation.

  • Create a community of photographers that bring to the table innovation, collaboration and support for the mission of digitizing the visual world of real estate.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelors required and Masters preferred.

  • 10+ years leading a team of photographers responsible for delivering a product against deadlines.

  • 5+ years of experience leading large-scale dispersed teams (200+) against deadlines and deliverables.

  • Prove track record establishing operational frameworks that aligned to achieving business goals.

  • Experience establishing operational metrics and aligning organization to execute against those metrics.

  • Proven track record driving accountability with Directors and Managers and leading in a metric driven organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate in fast paced environment with high creative and delivery standards.

  • Ability to collaborate across functional areas to deliver assignments.

  • Strong communication skills required both written and including an ability to influence others through data.
