The Role

Dispatchers play a crucial role in facilitating the timely delivery of our media services to our Homes.com and Apartments.com clients. As a dispatcher, you will be responsible for efficiently managing photographers' day of appointments. Our dispatchers will proactively monitor appointments and logistics, anticipating potential challenges and implementing solutions to ensure minimal disruption to service delivery. Whether it's rescheduling appointments, reallocating resources, or addressing operational issues, the dispatcher will act swiftly and decisively to resolve any issues that may arise. By effectively managing day-to-day operations and handling unexpected challenges with professionalism and efficiency, the dispatcher plays a key role in ensuring the overall success and satisfaction of our clients. This role works closely with our schedulers, photographers, and management team. This position is based in our Richmond, VA office.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with scheduling coordinators, managers, and photographers to optimize resource utilization and resolve operational issues.

  • Respond to unforeseen events, emergencies, or disruptions by implementing contingency plans and coordinating appropriate responses.

  • Provide timely updates and information to customers regarding status or delays.

  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and records of dispatch activities, including incidents, responses, and resource utilization.

  • Address inquiries, concerns, and complaints from customers providing exceptional customer service.

  • Collaborate with the operations team to streamline processes, implement improvements, and enhance service delivery efficiency.

  • Communicate clearly and concisely in stressful situations to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and environments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College.

  • A track record of commitment to prior employers.

  • At least 4 years of professional experience.

  • Proven experience in dispatching, logistics, or a related field.

  • Experience in using dispatch software, GPS systems, and other relevant technology preferred.

  • Strong time management skills and very detailed oriented.

  • A proactive and positive attitude, with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of Windows, Apple OS, Microsoft Office, and Internet applications.

  • Enjoys working independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to work some nights and weekends.

  • Evidence of strong academic performance from college.
